Cloud & infrastructure

Infrastructure that grows with you.

The office server is getting old, data must be stored safely and applications must run reliably. We plan and build your infrastructure in the Microsoft cloud or as a hybrid solution, with clear permissions, backup and cost control, in Swiss data centres if you wish.

Challenges

Challenges
we solve.

Typical situations from daily work and how we approach them.

01

The office server is getting old, and nobody wants to replace it.

How we solve it

We review what runs on it and find the right place for each part: files to cloud storage, applications to virtual servers, the obsolete retired. The migration is planned, with a test run and a way back.

02

If the server fails, work stops, and nobody knows for how long.

How we solve it

We back up servers and data automatically to a second location and practise the restore. You know how quickly, and to which point, you can recover.

03

Data has to stay in Switzerland, yet the solution should still run in the cloud.

How we solve it

Microsoft runs data centres in Switzerland. We plan which services are available there, how data is stored and backed up and how access is protected, and we record the decisions.

More on this in our blog
04

The cloud bill keeps rising, and nobody can say exactly why.

How we solve it

We analyse resources, utilisation and pricing tiers, remove what is unused and size the rest to fit. Budgets and alerts make deviations visible early.

AI IN THIS SERVICE

If you want your own AI solutions, you need a secure foundation: we run AI services in your cloud environment, with data in Switzerland where available, protected access and monitored costs.

Offerings

Our offerings
in detail.

Each offering can be booked on its own or combined with others. We agree the exact scope together.

Planning & migration3

Cloud foundation

An organised starting point in the cloud, with clear ownership, security and cost control.

  • Structure, permissions and policies
  • Networking, logging and budgets
  • Documented and described as code

Migrate servers to the cloud

Existing servers and line-of-business applications move to the cloud in a planned way.

  • An inventory and a target design per application
  • A test migration and a defined way back
  • Cutover, monitoring and handover

Hybrid environments

What has to stay in the office stays there, and is still monitored, updated and protected centrally.

  • Connecting on-premises servers to central management
  • Updates and policies in one place
  • A secure connection between office and cloud

Servers & data4

Desktops from the cloud

A complete Windows desktop in the browser, for line-of-business applications, staff on the move or external specialists.

  • The right option, chosen by usage and cost
  • Programs and user profiles set up
  • Access with strong sign-in

File server in the cloud

Where ordinary cloud storage is not the right fit, for large files or older programs for example, a file server in the cloud replaces the one in the office.

  • Shares with sign-in through your company accounts
  • Local caching in the office where needed
  • Backup with earlier versions

Backup and disaster recovery

If a server fails or data is encrypted, it is clear how quickly, and to which point, you can recover.

  • Automatic backup of servers and databases
  • A copy at a second location
  • Restore tests and a written procedure

Databases and business applications

Databases and business applications run as a managed service, with backups and updates.

  • The right way to run them
  • Data migration with a test run
  • Access, backup and monitoring

Network & applications3

Networking and secure connections

Office, staff and cloud are securely connected, and nothing is needlessly reachable from the internet.

  • Secure connections between office, cloud and remote staff
  • Services reachable only where needed
  • Secure remote administration instead of open access

Run applications

The right platform for each application, from a website to a business application with a database.

  • Choice of the right platform
  • Custom domain, certificate and sign-in
  • Checked, repeatable delivery of changes

Cloud costs under control

Understand what you pay for, and pay only for what you need.

  • Analysis of resources, utilisation and pricing tiers
  • Remove what is unused, resize the rest
  • Budgets and alerts

An example project

The old server has to go.

File storage moves to the cloud and the line-of-business application to a virtual server in a Swiss data centre, with backup and monitoring. Budgets alert you when costs drift from the plan.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know.

Your question is not here? Write to us

Will our data stay in Switzerland?

Microsoft runs data centres in Switzerland, and many services can run there. Some services or features are not available everywhere; we check this for each service and record it.

Is the cloud worth it for a small company?

Not for everything. For files and collaboration, storage in Microsoft 365 is often enough; servers in the cloud pay off for line-of-business applications, databases or AI. We work out the running costs beforehand.

Who runs the environment afterwards?

We agree that before the project starts: your team, your existing IT partner or us. Documentation makes sure the environment does not depend on a single person.

What we clarify first

We clarify existing systems, security and data protection requirements, the budget and who is responsible for operations. A new environment, a migration and an optimisation each need a different scope.
